Perth Hills Festival October 2018

Despite the weather forecast of increasing showers, we were fortunate to only have a couple of heavy showers go through on the day. A good crowd attended and most stall holders were happy with their results for the day. The Pickering Brook Heritage Group combine with Tom Price from Illawarra Orchard, to present a massive display of historic photos and other related items. This created a huge amount of interest of our past. Enquiries were made from children doing school projects through to families wanting to find out more about the district in which their parents lived.

The Pickering Brook Heritage Group featured “The Gentle Giants – the Horse” on their 2019 Calendar that was released at the Perth Hills Festival. Arrangements were made for two beautiful Clydesdale horse from neighbouring Bedfordale, to be exhibited on the day. They proved very popular with the children. Some were even given the chance to feed them with pieces of carrot. But they were warned to keep their thumbs tucked away when presenting the piece of carrot on their opened hand, as the horse may grab it by mistake.
