Roleystone Pool

Research by Gordon Freegard

A very popular sport during the hot summer was swimming at the Roleystone Pool. It was frequented by many of the locals and many family picnics and gatherings were held there. Situated just of Collins Road, Roleystone, it was actually an area of the Canning River that contained water right through most summers. From the road it was accessed down a set of stone steps. Facilities were limited but that did not matter to those who enjoyed the spot.
