Anzac Day - 2025
25TH APRIL 2025
Thank you to all the ANZAC supporters who braced themselves for the cold morning to attend the Dawn Service. Thanks also go to all the volunteers who worked so hard to prepare the War Memorial for the Annual Dawn Service.
Sound systems were put in place, chairs moved into lines and wreaths arranged in order.
BBQs were set into action and the beginning of the Bacon and Egg roll was set in motion to be enjoyed after the Service.
The Flag
It was exciting this year to have our youngest flag raiser Grace Della Polina assisted by her father Peter. It was an amazing achievement for someone so young to take on the role so seriously.
Master of Ceremonies
Stephan Lamont our regular MC with his team of workers ran the service in a relaxed and formal matter paying respect to all who have served our Nation.
Prayer
Thank you to Neil Tuffin for his very moving prayer and Gospel reading at the commencement of the service.
Linneau Steuart from the Pickering Brook Primary School presented her poem in respect for the ANZACs.
Barry Sue Guest Speaker
This year’s Anzac address was made by Mr Barry Sue. Barry is the eldest son of Jack Sue. Jack Sue was well known as a covert agent in Australia’s World War II Z Special Unit. He was decorated with the DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT MEDAL – Australia’s second highest military award. Jack was later awarded the ORDER of AUSTRALIA for his lifetime contribution to maritime preservation. Jack unfortunately passed away some years back, however we are honoured to have his eldest son Barry to deliver this year’s Anzac address.
