Fremantle Prison Bus Trip 2024

Fremantle Prison

Once again our happy group of travellers headed off into the morning light on our way to visit the Fremantle Prison. A private organised tour had been pre-arranged.

To celebrate ANZAC Day our first port of call for morning tea was Monument Hill.
What a splendid War Memorial with magnificent views over the harbour and the city of Fremantle. It was a very relaxed morning allowing all the passengers to take in the Beauty of the area and the amazing place of remembrance.

Following our sumptuous Morning Tea, we headed to the Prison and were taken on an extraordinary tour of the whole complex. Our guide was outstanding and apart from the austere nature of the place and the horror of the gallows it was a fabulous tour. Top marks to Fremantle Prison for their dedication to the history of the place.

After the Prison tour travellers were given free time in the City of Fremantle to wander and visit other heritage sites or linger over a relaxed lunch at Cicerello’s or take a stroll to the Fremantle Markets.

To finish the day. we stopped at Coogee Beach and dipped our feet in the ocean and enjoyed a fresh cuppa and afternoon tea before heading home to good old Pickering Brook.

Thanks again to Roy and Margaret Waters for the donation of their bus and time. Many thanks to all the ladies who provided the morning tea once again.
